In January of 2014, we decided to build our "forever" home on Lake Lanier where my wife and I grew up. We started our project by searching for ideas on houzz. We narrowed our search to show only "lake home" pictures in our area and found that most of the pictures we were saving to our "Ideabooks" were the work of...you guessed it, the Reed Brothers. This was our first build and we were warned that the process would be extremely frustrating and stressful. Thanks to Todd and Ron, our experience was nothing short of amazing. We spent the first several months with Todd who was so helpful in getting us to our final design. He listened to us, challenged us, and ultimately guided us to a plan that met all of the requirements we were looking to meet. Todd's passion for design is reflected in his work. Ron took over when it was time to break ground and begin the build. Ron is a machine. He would give us homework at each meeting to ensure decisions were made to keep the project on schedule. We also appreciated that Ron wouldn't just tell us things we wanted to hear. He was very honest and direct when setting expectations on timeline, cost, change orders, etc. Well, he was dishonest in one area...our contract was for a July completion; however, we ended up moving into our new home in May. It is worth noting that the Reed Brothers weren't the only builders we looked at. We received estimates on Todd's designs from 2 other companies that were referred to us from family/friends. In the end we didn't go with the cheapest option or the best salesman. We went with the Reed Brothers because the level of detail they provided left no questions unanswered, they were always available and quick to respond, and our gut just told us that these were the guys to build our dream home. And they succeeded. Some additional comments on the Reed Brothers: -They are hilarious. Polar opposites from each other but hilarious in their own ways...HGTV should make a show for these guys -They own their mistakes. For example, when they accidentally put in a flagstone patio (instead of concrete) they didn't try to get us to pay for it. They simply said, "Merry Christmas" -They didn't complete the build and disappear.
